Renewable Energy & Sustainability
Renewable energy (RE) is energy that comes from resources which are continually replenished such as sunlight, biomass, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal. Using RE is growing rapidly in the last 5 years mainly because there are economic mechanisms, from governments, which they use to make RE usage more available in homes, public and government buildings, industry, public transportation etc. RE requires modern technologies which are, in most cases, very expensive, so it is necessary to use some type of subsidizing or other economic or tax mechanism for increase of RE usage. There are other ways to encourage RE usage, such as feed-in tariffs paid by the local utility provider for every kWh of energy that was produced using RE.
Using RE also means sustainability, especially when it is used with improving energy efficiency. As a result of that, there is lesser pollution, smaller impact on environment and, of course, good economic effects.
